Garganta

Garganta is a fast-paced platformer with a setting and art style inspired by the works of Tsutomu Nihei and M. C Escher, as well as other medium like Metropolis (1927), Eraserhead (1977), etc. Players will be able to explore massive, barren structures spanning multiple kilometers that evoke oppressive sentiments while still being beautiful.

About Garganta

We created this game using Unity HDRP 2021, with a PBR workflow, using Sourcetree as version control and Notion for task tracking and documentation.

The uniqueness of this game comes exclusively from its immersive environment, while the gameplay loop of parkour is simply an "excuse" to explore that. It catches the attention of potential players mainly because we found it pleasing to know that we have achieved such visual prowess, especially in such a large scale, in a student game under a very stringent due date.

The initial thought behind creating this game was that we were sick of creating walking simulator-esque projects for uni over and over, and instead wanted to make something fun and engaging for gamers, a game that we would find fun to play ourselves.
